Public Warning System Statewide Drill

Home Posted on March 26, 2026

In coordination with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), the City will conduct a scheduled test of its emergency notification systems on Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m.

The test will include:

  • Hyper-Reach emergency alerts
  • Outdoor Warning Sirens (OWS)

As part of the test, the outdoor warning sirens will perform a brief “growl test.” This means the sirens will sound momentarily to confirm functionality rather than completing a full warning cycle.

This coordinated test helps ensure all emergency notification systems are operating properly across the region.

This is only a test. There is no emergency. No action is required.

Because jurisdictions across the region are participating, you may receive more than one test alert on your phone. We understand this may be inconvenient, however, we encourage neighbors not to opt out of emergency alerts, as these notifications are a critical tool for sharing urgent information during real emergencies.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe. For more information please visit the Texas Division of Emergency Management website.
