Earth Day

Join us for a full filled afternoon celebrating our planet. Earth Day will take place on April 27, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Slayter Creek Park.

Activities

  • Live Animal Demonstrations
    • 11 a.m. to noon: Blackland Prairie Raptor Center Live Raptor Demonstration under the pavilion
    • 1-3 p.m.: Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary Live Animal Ambassadors
    • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association Honey Princess Aubrey Live Hive Demonstration
  • Live Music - 12:30-2:30 p.m. under the pavilion
  • Food Trucks
  • Crafts
  • Seed plantings
  • Tie-Dye Station *Free while supplies last
  • Pet Adoptions by Collin County Animal Services

Household Hazardous Waste Takeback

Reduce, Dispose, and Donate

Spring clean for a cause! A part of the Earth Day Celebration at Slayter Creek Park.

Household Hazardous Waste disposal bins will be onsite. Read guidelines here.

Grace Place Food Pantry will accept in-date shelf stable food items.

Trusted World will accept gently used clothing items.

Mission Regan will accept medical items (Examples: hospital beds, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, shower chairs, and care supplies (no medication).

Anna Police Department will be hosting the annual Drug Take-Back event at the Municipal Complex.

Parking Information


Event parking will be available in the south lot of Slayter Creek Park (next to football stadium) or Slayter Creek Middle School.
